Dear Dover Community,
While we will still be providing meals for all the students who used our online ordering forms as published for the staggered site deliveries scheduled for September 11th. The extension of the USDA’s “Seamless Summer Option (SSO)” now allows us to deliver meals for all Dover children at no charge.
The USDA is allowing us Area Eligibility in summer programs in all areas now extended through the end of the 2020/2021 School Year (essentially the same program that was in place this spring) for weeks that school is in session. The Dover School District will now be able to serve all children 18 and under at no charge. This includes students attending classes on campus as well as those involved in remote learning. This is a great opportunity to combat the food insecurity and economic impact that the COVID crisis has created in our community. In order to provide as many meals as possible in a timely and safe manner, we will be delivering three breakfast/lunch meal combinations every Tuesday, and two breakfast/lunch meal combinations every Friday starting September 15th to the following locations between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM:
Woodman Park School – 11 Towle Avenue
Rutland Manor -1 Abby Lane
Adelle Drive – Redden Gardens
Westgate Village – 1 Martha’s Way
White Cliffs of Dover – 510 Martha’s Way
Lilac Gardens – 1 Lilac Lane
Mineral Park – Mineral St., Upper Housing Authority
Seymour Osman Community Ctr. – Hampshire Circle, Lower Housing Authority
On September 29th we will be adding two more locations:
Strafford Farms – 58 New Rochester Road
Janetos Market – 77 Main Street
Parent’s/guardians will no longer need to place an order, all you need to do is show up at one of these locations between 1:00 and 2:00 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays (when school is in session) to pick up the meal combinations mentioned above for each one of your children age 18 and under.
